A few random pictures... activities... and the near death experience of a cat.

First off... it is important to know that Johnathon got the smallest cubscout shirt available when he was a tiger cub... and has managed to wear it every year since then... at the beginning of this year it actually fit him just about right (4 years later) but now it is officially too small... so here he is... such a little man... in the smallest boy scout shirt available... how long do you think i can stretch this one?

Painting has continued to be the thing that is robbing most of my free time... I am loving it.

Now... Onto this weekend... We had a very full day saturday... The Grand finally was Jacobs Birthday party at the rec center... Johnathon was so excited to go swimming... he has missed it and has spring fever like crazy!!

But we started the morning off with the Scouting for Food drive... This is such a great activity, and they collected so much food...

Yeah... Thats peanut butter... it required mention

Here is Johnathon, Kevin, and Jacob... They can almost always be found together, they have spent so many summers together with stephanie... and all these years in scouts... They really have grown up together

Right after the food drive.. the scout group had to finish up their outdoors pin... they had to hike... start a fire without gas... and cook over it... I got Johnathon a camel pack for the hike... he loved it... and i think he drank the water just because it was fun.... Next time he is dehydrated... im going to make him wear it around the house.

Last... but not least... Near death experience of the cat... and i only share this... because well... it was so freakish... I have a lil kitty that lives under my bed... we got her before xmas, and thought she would... like shadow did... adjust and make friends... she has not... she doesnt leave my room. We love her dearly, and thought... well... its spring, lets throw her outside and see what happens.... Here is what happened - She went out... loved it... did really well... then i got brave... and let Zip out.... That didnt go so well... i have never seen a cat try to run through a fence... but that is exactly what she did....face first... into the chain link fence... and with enough force behind her to get her head stuck there... johnathon is screaming.. i think she is dead..... i shove her head back out of the fence... thinking... well she is dying anyways right? and carry her back in the house... hold her for a while... look her over....no blood.... set her down... she makes a mad dash for the safety of my bedroom... and right under the bed..... whew! she is fine. We bought her all kinds of treats and special stuff.... (Cat pictured above... cause for the life of me i couldnt drag the picture down here.... stupic thing)

So... she stays a resident of my bedroom.... the end.
